Conclusion of Tenure as Chairperson of PBHI
As I conclude my term as the Chairperson of PBHI, I look back on our collective journey with immense pride and gratitude. Serving the victims and communities with PBHI has been more than a professional role; it has been a profound commitment to the advancement of legal aid and human rights in Indonesia, and even Asia.
Leadership is never about the person at the helm, but about the mission that moves the ship. As I step down as Chairperson of PBHI, I am reminded that the struggle for human rights is a marathon, not a sprint.
In an era where justice often faces steep challenges, I am honored to have stood alongside a team of courageous victims, activists and advocates. We have faced difficult cases and celebrated significant victories, but the true success lies in the resilience of the people we defend. I am deeply grateful for the wisdom I have gained from the field and the solidarity I found within this struggle.
After a meaningful journey serving as the Chairperson of PBHI, it is time for me to pass the baton. While my formal leadership ends today, my dedication to the principles PBHI stands for remains steadfast.
I leave this role not with a sense of completion, but with a sense of spirits, knowing that the foundation of PBHI is built on the strength of many, not the few. May we continue to speak truth to power, always.
Human rights advocacy is a path paved with challenges, but seeing our impact on the ground has made every effort worthwhile. I am moving on to my next chapter with a heart full of lessons and a spirit still committed to the cause.
